weblog#5:Drugs in Portugal: Did Decriminalization Work?

In my opinion, sometimes, the limitation of laws is less important than the thoughts of human beings. Take me for example, I usually have the strong desire to try something was forbidden by parents, because my curiosity will be risen when they told me to avoid doing those things. Therefore, I think lots of people just want to challenge the authority of government, and then do some illegal deeds for fun. As a result, the higher restriction was set, the larger amount of people challenge it. According to this psychology aspect, I think that Portugal government is the perfect example to other countries.

In this article, the author likes to mention the differences between United States and Portugal, such as the growth of drug abusers, and it has distinct meaning for readers. It seems that people who live in Portugal have more common senses of drug than people in United States, and we found that the law in America is much stricter than in Portugal. However, I think we still need to spend more time on observing the phenomenon which will occur in Portugal in the near future; because it’s possible that other country takes advantage of the liberal laws in Portugal to do something illegal on purpose. weblog#4:Does Facebook Replace Face Time or Enhance It?

Faceboook is a popular issue nowadays. People want to record their life by using the trendiest way, surfing the Internet. Therefore, almost every student has a blog to express their feeling or school days. I still remember that when I first mentioned that floods of classmates like to renew their blogs every day, my mom said that “I cannot imagine that everybody wants to show their diaries to strangers! Why do they afraid their parents to read their diaries but putting it on the Internet?” Conversely, she likes to hear some gossip from me after I saw the blogs of my friends nowadays. My friends’ stories also bring fun to my mom.

Recently, I am fascinated with “Plurk”, a new function on the Net. Plurk is a mini blog pattern, just like the well-known one, “Twitter”. I make some friends from it, and I can express my mood on it no matter when. Best of all, I can follow the latest plans of my friends, and the friends will give me some advice after I renewed my plurk. As a result, I can understand that why people like to hang on Facebook for whole day long, because the feeling of connecting with others is irreplaceable.

To sum up, the high-tech stuff has influenced our daily life seriously, and lots of products are intended to improve the relationship between human beings. Perhaps the other software will show our daily life to others in the near future. (245 words)

weblog#3:A Quiet Revolution Grows in the Muslim World

The report made me know much more about the women who live in the Muslim world. In my opinion, the image of Muslim women is tender and powerless, but this article totally reverses my stereotype of them. The young generation started to judge the religion in their new way and make the tradition more flexible in modern society. They take advantage of intelligence, instead of violence, to change the Muslim world, is the reason why I appreciate them a lot. They have the confidence of being Muslims without feeling shame. This way, they can improve the improper tradition of the religion in order to build the ideal environment for their offspring.

I agree that the interpretation of the Koran might have disturbed by someone who wanted to impose their power over the ladies. Perhaps the rule of wearing the veil was ruled by the jealousy of men. On the other hand, the measure which the women take is very cute. I like the idea of decorating the veil very much. This deed makes the gray world much more colorful and bright. Moreover, they did not achieve their goal by violent activities. I think that’s because they know the changing conception should be accepted step by step, except forcing everyone to adopt it in a short time. On the contrary, the revolution in Chinese society is less graceful than the Muslim world. (231 words)

weblog#2 :India's ultracheap car arrives with load of uncertainties

I’ve heard about this idea on year ago. To me, the most impressive part of the mini car is the single windshield wiper. I thought that car is so cute at first time. It let me remind the small car which just has two seats to sit in Taiwan. However, I think it’s strange after knowing that Tata Nano does not build in the air conditioner, because India has the melting-hot weather. It seems that it’s necessary to have a conditioner in Nano, or you’ll become BBQ in your dear car.

Moreover, the viewpoints of Nano are totally different between India and Western countries. Indians want to get rid of driving motorcycle as soon as possible. They do not really care about the quality of car, because they just want to be an “owner” of a car. To Indians, having a car means another class for them. Unlike Indians, people who live in Western countries have another status to pursue. To them, it’s common to have a car; the point is, whether the equipments in their car are the best or not. As a result, the idea of Nano did not attract them at all. The thing they worry about is the safety of Nano. To sum up, this issue shows the different conceptions of developing country and developed countries, and it also let me think about—perhaps China is the next country which intends to invent the cheapest vehicle of the world. weblog#1 :A Web Awash in Liquor Ads, Promoting Moderation

In my opinion, I think the campaign has its breakthrough not only for western countries but also for Taiwan. Nowadays, each company has its own concern about their profit of products; besides, the society has become much more commercialistic than decades ago; therefore, it’s difficult for company to care about consumers first except noticing their bonus of each year. In modern aspect, they should be the pioneer and the model for others to learn, because they help governments promote the conception of drinking in moderate way and prevent floods of accidents efficiently.

According to numerous heath researches, drink moderately will improve the rate of suffering cancers. It seems that people who agree with this campaign have another reason to support it. Perhaps it will be the leading trend to persuade people believe in you by telling them the result of researches. On the other hand, I think the campaign must have its background to be organized. When the economic slump in the short time happened abruptly, it’s no doubt that alcoholics will increase in a short time. Although the campaign was founded in 2006, the report was released until now. That is to say, the promotion of drinking in moderate way boosts maybe has the strong connection of economy. (209 words)

Oh Give Me a Home Where the Cowboys and Kangaroos Roam talks about the latest movie and the background of the director, Baz Luhrmann.

After seeing this article, my desire of watching movie boost more and more than before. Maybe that’s because I love Nicole Kidman very much. However, thanks to the Final exam, I still can not have time to see it. What a great pity! I just hope that the film will not disappear before the Final. In the movie, Nicole is a brave woman who want to protect something belong to her. After facing floods of obstacles, she found her true love in Australia.

The most important part in the film is the breathtaking scenery in Australia. It is noticeable that Nicole wants to promote the beautiful scene in her motherland. The issue between Australia and England is also mentioned in the film. We can see the innocence of aborigine and the conflict between two different races. The writer mentioned that a good movie dose not mean it should make people burst into tears, but should make people recall the meaning behind the setting again and again. I don’t agree with this theory, but maybe that’s the formula lots of critics take. After all, lots of boring movies for people usually gain some awards because of its deep meaning. (214 words)

Article#12

Why We're OK With Hurting Strangers indicates that we are not care to hurt others we did not know. However, researchers did not find the reason until now.

Although floods of experts engage in observing this issue, I think the reason can be seen clearly, it is the effects of love and sympathy. If we ever seen the person or had a merely small contact with him or her, we may produce the feeling or an impression to him or her. No matter the feeling is great or bad, at least, we knew more about the person than strangers.

I think the emotion of human beings cannot be judged by high-tech machines, and that’s the reason why the experts can’t find the truth of giving indifferent attitude to strangers. Take me for example, I love some people deeply, however, I don’t know which reason I should take if someone asked me why I love them so much. I think human is the most strange creature in the world, because we can combine the feeling of like and dislike together on the same person, it’s very complicated but we usually do that unconsciously. Maybe that’s the reason why the world is filled with colorful things.(200 words)
